Intro seminar Sept 4, 2018

Some instructions regard to the final dissemination project

The form of dissemination project can be an essay / article / interview / video / exhibition / website etc.

It should integrate the theoretical principles or models with your experiences collected from the placement and provide some new ideas, solutions for social change in an Estonian context. The text needs to be well argumented, based on facts and theoretical references.

If we consider knowing, comprehensive and practicing as first phases of learning then the final project should provide the opportunity to analyse, evaluate and create.

Dissemination project is an individual task, that means in general cooperation is not accepted but argumeneted exceptions are possible (for example a video or an exhibition can be a work that requires more work).

Dissemination project is meant for a larger audience (exceeds group of co-learners and supervisors and their teams you probably did some work together) The specific target group for your project may be identified through the selection of a particular channel.  E.g. EPALE platform provides the content mainly for adult educators and stakeholders or your placement newspaper is targeted to clients and employees.

Starting to write or create your dissemination project you may keep in mind some certain channel. What channel it can be: the publication of your placement (website, newsletter, magazine), radio or TV (e.g. morning programs), daily newspaper, weekly newspaper (e.g. Sirp) or some community newspaper, magazine, Tallinn University news etc. If you don’t have a specific channel EPALE  platform can remain your dissemination channel. (Nevertheless, even in EPALE you may create the content in some other format than an article.)

First, you create the project in English, it will be published in EPALE (and if the English version suits for your specific channel, then in this channel as well of course). Then EPALE organises the translation after what you offer the piece to the channel editor. The piece of text (or other some form of publication) need to be accepted by the EPALE editor and the respective channel editor. It has a correct formulation that is required by the channel. It attracts the attention of the target audience (this recommendation aslo includes the hint that it can not be too long).

Parts of the work: attractive title, author and short bio, the name of channel; the text, references, acknowledgements.

The deadline December 15 was announced for English versions but it can be extended to December 21. Estonian versions of your creative works will be published in January-February.

If you have the idea of a type of channel but you don't know the respective Estonian organisation (e.g. you think the channel would be somehow culture directed), then Tiina can help to identify the channel (e.g. Tiina will point to Sirp) and share contacts.
